The Woodpecker Ai-Motor Endomotor with Apex Locator is an advanced, cordless endodontic device designed for efficient and safe root canal treatments. Featuring a powerful, brushless motor with low noise and long service life, it offers both root canal preparation and real-time canal length measurement. The integrated apex locator enables precise file positioning, automatically stopping or reversing when the file reaches the apical stop to prevent perforation. Its 360° rotatable contra-angle, wireless charging, and customizable settings enhance usability. Real-time feedback and dynamic torque control reduce file separation risk, making endodontic procedures more accurate, comfortable, and reliable for both dentists and patients
Indications:
- Ai-Motor is mainly used in Endodontic treatment. It is a cordless endo motor with root canal measurement capability. It can be used as a endo motor for preparation and enlargement of root canals, or device for measuring canal length. It can be used to enlarge the canals while monitoring the position of the file tip inside the canal.
Preparation and Setup
Ensure all components (handpiece, contra-angle, measuring wire, file clip, lip hook) are clean and sterilized before use
Assemble the device according to the instructions, attaching the contra-angle and connecting measurement accessories if using apex locator mode
Power On and Program Selection
Press the Main button to power on the motor handpiece; it enters Standby mode
Press the Main button again to enter Working mode. Use the Setting button (“P”) and Adjusting buttons (“+”/“-”) to select or customize the desired program for your file system and clinical needs
Adjust operation mode (CW, CCW, REC, ATR, EAL), speed (100–1200 rpm; 100–500 rpm for reciprocation), and torque (0.4–5.0 Ncm) as required for the selected file and procedure
File Insertion and Canal Preparation
Attach the endodontic file to the contra-angle
Insert the file into the canal. The motor can be set to start automatically when the file enters the canal, or you can start it manually with the Main button
Monitor the real-time file position on the display. The integrated apex locator provides visual feedback as the file advances in the canal
Safety and Apical Actions
As the file approaches the apex, the device automatically slows down (Apical Slow Down)
When the file reaches the preset reference point (apical stop), the motor will either stop or reverse automatically, depending on your settings, to prevent over-instrumentation or perforation
You can set these apical actions (OFF, Stop, Reverse) in the menu before starting
Auto Start/Stop and Reciprocation
Enable Auto Start/Stop if desired: the motor will start when the file is inserted into the canal and stop when removed
For ledge bypass or reciprocating techniques, set the reciprocation angles and speed as needed
Completion and Maintenance
After use, remove the file and disassemble the handpiece.
Clean and sterilize all components according to guidelines for future use
Tips:
Always confirm speed and torque settings match the file manufacturer's recommendations to avoid file separation
Use the 360° rotatable contra-angle for better access, especially in posterior teeth
Refer to the on-screen prompts and visual indicators for real-time guidance during the procedure
